Why Vidogo House? Vidogo means small in Swahili! And these properties are surely that. But where everybody else saw a tiny, dilapidated, old (c. 1920) cottage on a large lot, we saw an amazing opportunity to create a brand of short term rental properties showcasing how small living can be the perfect backdrop for a well lived life - especially when paired with ample outdoor space, and cool, collected, (and shoppable) decor!
A part of the experience guests are given a 'taste' of how to move into a more sustainable/eco friendly lifestyle. The projects feature many zero waste options for food storage, prep and cleaning. It also encourages guests to compost so that the unused food material can be used to fertilize the edible living walls and landscapes that beautify the properties.
WHAT WE DID
BACK TO PORTFOLIO
Industry: Airbnb + short term rental
The reimagined properties are the perfect backdrop for an art, design, and experience driven mix of local and collected vintage furniture, original local art, and curated books and accessories. The homes are furnished and accessorized with purpose - each piece either having meaning or holding place in the overall project. It’s a chance to experience a more intentional pared down approach to living without sacrificing comfort or style.
We upped the hospitality by leaning into boutique hotel like services - think free local coffee and snacks, complimentary family friendly bikes, kettlebells and yoga gear, and even kayaks for outdoor adventures.
The result - a brand that embodies that think small, live big mentality with small homes with big hospitality!
